Powers and Abilities[]

  • Plates: 17 divine artifices created by Arceus. There is a Plate for each type (except Normal) and holding a Plate boosts the moves of that specific type by 20%.
  • Multitype: By using one of the 17 Plates; Arceus can change its typing to block or resist attacks. In his Complete Form: Arceus has access to all 18 pokemon types (Normal as his default).
    • This makes Arceus immune to Normal, Electric, Fighting, Ground, Psychic, Ghost, and Dragon Type Moves (so long as he switches Plates accordingly).
    • Immune to moves or abilities that copy or manipulate items or abilities.
    • Can also work with Z-Crystals (but Z-Crystals do not affect Judgement)
  • Time Manipulation (Capable of freezing time)
    • Able to move indefinitely while time literally stands still or is erased, or to travel anywhere instantly.
  • In his Complete Form, Speed is rated as 'Immeasurable' by our standards

    • All pokemon who hear the song will Faint after 4 turns (including the turn the move was used on)
      • This includes Arceus itself.
    • Can be avoided by switching out the pokemon.
  • Hyper Beam (lv 80)
    • Arceus' most powerful attack (except for Z-Moves)
    • Arceus fires a beam of energy

      • 225 Power (due to STAB) if Arceus has no Plates

  • Will eventually die if Arceus loses all of its Plates. (Anime Only)
  • Depending on which Plates it is missing, it can be hindered or damaged by specific types of attacks. However, in it's Complete Form, Arceus has no notable weaknesses, so long as it counters incoming attacks appropriately.
    • There are only 8 types Arceus can be immune to (Normal, Fighting, Electric, Ground, Psychic, Ghost, Poison, Dragon). Arceus can have a 50% resistance against all other types; but it still does take damage from those attacks.

Failures[]

  • Arceus was greatly weakened after saving the Earth from a planet-destroying meteor; as the action made Arceus lose his plates.
  • An enraged Arceus was defeated by a few prevolved pokemon

Trivia[]

  • The Pixie Plate was added after the Fairy Type was introduced. This means Arceus has been retconned to have 17 plates in total.
