This page lists information on the various different Staff Positions defined on the Death Battle Fanon Wiki.

Ranks are placed from low to high. Exceptions on these requirements are doable depending on the context.

It is recommended that users wishing to join the staff team have a Discord account, so they can join the wiki’s staff server and receive direct feedback on there. This isn’t essential however.

This will not affect users that already have any of these rights.

If you feel eligible to be promoted to any of these ranks, go here.

Terminology

  • Main Content Area = Articles.
  • Compulsory Requirements = Requirements that must be met for users to be even considered for a position
  • Optional Requirements = Requirements that aren’t compulsory but can make it more likely than you are chosen over another candidate if you have met some of them

Rollback

On most FANDOM wikis, Rollbacks are vandalism helpers with only one extra tool, that being the Rollback tool. On the Death Battle Fanon Wiki, however, Rollbacks are far more salient, having more responsibilities and, through the power of JavaScript, access to additional tools that "normal" users cannot, and may not, use. Rollbacks on this wiki are tasked not only with dealing with excessive vandalism, but also with providing maintenance towards categories, file / page / category names and template types.

Abilities:

  • The Rollback tool, which allows them to quickly revert all consecutive edits by the same user.
  • The Ajax Undo, which lets them undo edits in one click without leaving the page.
  • The ability to update or shift categories from, to or between dozens to hundreds of pages at once using MassCategorization.
  • The ability to instantly rename a page without leaving the page. (Ajax Rename)
  • Automatically updating all links to a certain page, file or category after renaming it.
  • Instantly creating redirects without leaving the page they're on (AjaxRedirect)
  • Access to a modal on category pages to remotely add pages to them, without the need to browse to those pages manually.
  • Access to a modal on articles to instantly insert templates into them, without the need to open the editor.
  • Instantly changing an article's display name (e.g. without renaming it) through {{DISPLAYTITLE:}} by clicking the page title.
  • Bulk-override of template types
  • Uploading multiple files at once
  • Using MassRenameRevert.
  • Instantly marking pages for deletion. Content Moderators and Administrators do not have this tool, as they can simply delete pages instead.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforcing all rules and guidelines related to pages and the Blacklist
  • Reverting vandalism on pages using the Rollback feature
  • Adding appropriate categories to pages
  • Cleaning up unorganised character pages and adding character info and images to said pages if they wish

Compulsory Requirements:

  • At least 1,250 edits of which the majority must be in the main content area
  • Must've been on the wiki for at least 3 months
  • Must’ve repeatedly made edits that relate to cleaning up pages (ex. adding relevant categories to pages and adding character info and images to character pages)

How many Staff?

Obviously, we have to set a limit on how many users may become mods, ops and the like. Please note that these numbers are not final nor absolute; this is merely what we are striving for. They may be subject to change and exceptions are very well possible.

  • Bureaucrats: 5 (absolutely no more unless really needed)

  • Admins: 12
  • Content Moderators: 10
  • Discussion Moderators: 10
