History[]

Jax possesses a lifetime of military experience and discipline, utilizing relentless brutality and focus in combat. He also has a tremendous degree of physical strength, such that he is one of the Earth's strongest humans even without the aid of his signature metal arms. In many instances, he partners with Sonya Blade, training together with her on many occasions to prepare for the Mortal Kombat tournament, but treats Sonya as a little sister considering how close he was to her. On one occasion, alongside Sonya, he found another Sub-Zero (Kuai Liang) out of surprise and confusion, yet the new Sub-Zero claimed that he has arrived in the tournament to find out about his brother's demise. Although weirded out, they explained his death by Scorpion's hands. They encountered a disturbed Ermac, who ripped out both of Jax's arms. Grievously wounded, Sonya is forced to drop out to evacuate Jax while Sub Zero proceeds to the tournament. Having recovered with metal prosthetic arms, Jax stood alongside to defend Earthrealm, but was killed by Sindel in the process, and resurrected as a revenant. At Mortal Kombat X, still a Revenant, Jax defended Quan Chi, but alongside Sub Zero and Scorpion, he was resurrected in the process when Raiden disrupted Quan Chi's spell meant to bring back Shinnok. He later married and sired a daughter named Jacqui Briggs, who later followed her father's footsteps into the military, but became isolated after his wife's death. He later returned at Sonya's behest to capture Quan Chi, defeating the Revenants with help from Kenshi and rogue sorceress Sareena. In MK11, he was recruited by Kronika as an accomplice. In return, Kronika upgrades his prosthetic hands in return for his service. He was later defeated by his younger self and brought back to the hold on behalf of her daughter against Kronika herself.
