Death Battle Info[]

Background[]

  • Name: Grievous, Qymaen jai Sheelal
  • Species: Kaleesh (cyborg)
  • Residence: Vassek
  • Occupation: Former warlord, Supreme Commander of Droid Army, and Separatist General
  • Hates: Jedi, his droid troops being idiots, being labeled as those same idiots, Obi-Wan Kenobi

Abilities and Weapons[]

  • Cybernetic body
    • Composed of Duranium and Durasteel, two of the strongest and most common alloys in the Star Wars Universe
      • Armor can resist starfighter grade laser fire
    • Can split his arms, giving him 4 arms in total.
      • Arms and hands can spin 360 degrees at a rapid speed; making his lightsabers slice akin to a blender or helicopter blades
    • Super-speed able to rival the Jedi's Force Speed and is so fast that to the naked eye it looks like he's teleporting
    • Super-strength able to casually crush human skulls in his hands or feet or dent metal with his punches. Each of his arms individually is considered ten times stronger than an average human.
    • Clawed toes can climb buildings and walls or be used as alternative hands
      • This means Grievous can wield lightsabers with his feet. [1]
        • In theory, this means Grievous can wield a total of 6 lightsabers at a time.
      • His claws also allow him to walk like a spider and climb on the ceiling.
  • Can breathe in space
  • Multiple lightsabers (most stolen from Jedi he personally killed)
  • Grievance Striker: A modified DT-57 blaster with a 50-meter firing range.
  • E-5 Blaster Pistol
  • DC-17 Hand Blaster
  • Electrostaff
  • Grappling Hook
  • Thermal Detonators
  • Tsmeu-6 personal wheel bike
    • Housed a Blaster to allow Grievous to attack enemies parallel to him.
  • Soulless One: Starfighter with dual rapid-fire blaster cannons
  • Master Strategist and Tactician; considered one of the best military geniuses of the Separatist Military
  • As skilled with piloting as he is with a lightsaber
  • Skilled warrior and the greatest Jedi Hunter of his age
  • Repulsorlifts in his limbs (Legends/EU only)
    • Allows Grievous to fly/levitate and negate gravity

Feats[]

  • Before his transformation into a Cyborg, Grievous was considered a demigod and savior of Kalee
  • The military leader of the CIS and 3rd in command of the CIS (behind Dooku and The Emperor)
  • Was the leader of two separate armies (Warlord of the Kaleesh and Supreme Commander of the Droid Army)
  • Personally trained the Jedi Killer IG-100 Magnaguards after he was dissatisfied with their pre-programmed skills
  • Is said to have killed more than one hundred Jedi in personal combat throughout the Clone Wars
  • Outran laser bolts and missiles being fired at him from numerous ARC Troopers and a Gunship
  • Slaughtered countless Jedi and Clone Troopers
    • During his official reveal to the Galaxy, defeated 7 Jedi (4 of whom were Jedi Masters) at the Battle of Hypori; killing 3 of them single-handedly despite being outnumbered
    • Successfully escorted the Separatist Council off of Geonosis, while remaining undetected by killing clone companies and even his first Jedi victim without a Lightsaber
    • Kills Jedi Padawan Zephata'ru'tor who is basically a space dragon
    • Grievous kills Foul Moudama and Roron Corobb, two of some of the most highly regarded Masters in the Jedi Order
  • Gained the title of Supreme Commander after besting Durge and Asajj Ventress, both prominent Jedi Hunters
    • Durge is impressed with Grievous' speed since he himself can see battle-hardened Jedi Knights in slow motion
  • Predicted that Obi-wan would be distracting him while Anakin Skywalker and Adi Gallia rescue Eeth Koth and planned accordingly, impressing his Tactical Droid which is specifically designed to be tactical geniuses and advisors
  • Considered by Count Dooku to be his best student in Lightsaber Combat
    • Admits that he is hard-pressed to defeat Grievous in each one of their sparring matches
  • Strong enough to slice through Electro-staffs which are comprised of Phrik, a lightsaber-resistant material, with a lightsaber
  • Took an explosive to the face while laughing in amusement
  • Tanked an explosion that was powerful enough to engulf and devastate an underground city
  • Fast enough to dodge force pushes and deflect blaster bolts with his bare hands
  • Emerged unscathed from the destruction of Padme's H-type Nubian yacht
  • Responsible for the genocide of the Dathomirian Night Sisters
    • Delivered the killing blow to Mother Talzin
  • Tanked and walked through a Force Bellow.
  • Overpowered the former Sith Apprentice Darth Maul
  • Fought evenly with Mace Windu despite having a severe handicap in his agility and only using two lightsabers
  • Captured the Chancellor during the Battle of Coruscant while facing a gauntlet of Jedi and Clone Troopers
  • Grievious' Bombing of Duro left the planet temporarily uninhabitable
  • Managed to briefly overpower Obi-Wan's defenses despite being in a weakened state

Weaknesses and Faults[]

  • After getting his chest crushed by Mace Windu, his combat abilities weakened and his breathing problems worsened
  • Cybernetics can be used against him and he is still susceptible against EMPs
  • Dooku, Obi-Wan and other Jedi confirmed that Grievous's skill is not perfect
  • Grevious is not a Jedi in any sense of the word. Lacks a connection to the Force, rendering him unable to utilize or defend himself from such attacks. Since he is a Jedi Hunter; this is a frequent disadvantage for him.
  • Armor, speed, and strength have clear limitations
    • Armor chest-plate can be pulled apart; making his internal organic organs completely vulnerable.
  • No long-ranged weapons (other than a couple of Blasters).
  • Contrary to popular belief: lightsabers can't cut through everything. [2]
  • Has had his artificial limbs cut off by lightsabers multiple times.
    • Replacing his limbs is a meticulous process, and replacing his mask is painful
  • Is a coward and will run if things don't go his way
    • Depends on surprising and intimidating his foes to gain an advantage
    • Will sometimes use his Magnaguards to screen or weaken an opponent before he moves in for the kill
  • Violent and reckless.
    • Some of his most infamous defeats were attributed to Grievous not preparing or planning rationally.
    • Is constantly frustrated by his incompetent droids, to the point of assaulting or destroying them.
  • Near intelligible voice, often breaks into a coughing fit

Defeats[]

  • Failed to prevent the destruction of his flagship the Malevolence
  • Outmaneuvered by Skywalker's forces at the Battle of Bathawui
  • Failed to kill Anakin Skywalker despite R3-S6 serving as a spy
  • Failed to prevent the destruction of Skytop Station
  • Failed to kill Kit Fisto despite having help from his Magnaguards
  • Unsuccessful in the Second Battle of Kamino
  • Has failed to defeat Obi-Wan or Ahsoka Tano; despite fighting them multiple times
  • Failed to turn captured Jedi Padawans into his own cyborg soldiers
  • Captured by Gungun warriors briefly
  • Defeated by Ventress in their rematch
  • Was forced to surrender to Darth Maul and shut down his droid army
  • Failed to deliver a Kyber Crystal to Dooku
  • His mission of kidnapping Palpatine was thwarted by Anakin and Obi-Wan
  • Forced to abandon his second flagship the Invisible Hand
  • Killed by Obi-Wan singlehandedly
