History
In his youth, Siegfried was a leader of a band of thieves called Schwarzwind until one day, he had unknowingly killed his own father. Twisting his own mind to avoid the guilt, he then searched for and found the fabled weapon Soul Edge. But the blade soon took him over, transforming him into Nightmare, the Azure Knight.
For years, his will had been ensnared by the evil sword, slaughtering untold numbers of people, until his fateful duel with the swordman Raphael, who pierced the sword's eye, which freed Siegfried. He has since dedicated his life to atoning for his sins and stopping Soul Edge once and for all.
